Quick Family Getaway.

Within a days notice, Mark had four straight days off... so we jumped in the car and headed north to some of our favorite places.  It was SO, SO nice to get out of town and just enjoy being together.  

Vacation with Owen takes on a whole different feeling...  this first picture says it all.  Owen is happy just walking around and exploring these days. He literally could have spent all day picking up rocks on butterfly beach in Santa Barbara.

All things considered, the little man did a great job traveling with us.  He took long naps on the long car rides and slept great in the pac n play.  Owen tolerated our attempts to be places that Mark and I wanted to be... but he definitely put his foot down a time or two to let us know he needed some time to be free and explore. 

We drove up Highway 1 (the most unbelievable drive!!!) to Carmel.  Their beach has the most beautiful beaches...  turquoise water (the pictures did not capture it!) and white, fine sand.  You have to see it to believe it.  It was COLD there.

Owen still loves this backpack... he loves snuggling in with Dad and playing with his hair.  Its the best for getting in a long walk.

We can't head north without stopping in SLO... We love so much about that place.  Here are the boys grubbing at Firestone.  

Me and O at Farmers...  Famers Market has to be the most perfect event ever created.  I love walking downtown, love people watching, love the amazing local produce, and love eating bbq on the curb while listening to live music.  Why doesnt every town do it like SLO?

We have found this little bed and breakfast we absolutely love in SLO.  They  have the most amazing breakfast in the morning, and the owners are such good people.  Owen thought he was king there... they smothered him with attention and pancakes.
