Zoomars!

We visited Zoomars petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano last week.  It was very fun... and at times very funny.  Here are a few pics.

It took Owen a while to figure out what was going on... but he finally got the idea.

This is my favorite picture of the whole day.  Wallace and Ryder both look so scared of these guinea pigs.  Take the picture quick mom!

Owen on the train... I couldnt tell if he liked it or not because his face was like this the entire time.  Apparently he LOVED it because he cried hysterically when we had to get off and spent the next five minutes staring at the train.

Good Things.

Martha (or is it Oprah? Not sure.) gets her list of Good Things... Well, here are some of mine, and they all happened this weekend.

1. An amazing date with my husband -- riding bikes to a restaurant on the water and getting drinks (felt like we were 25 again).

2. Waking up to Owen, playing with Owen, cuddling with Owen, laughing with Owen...

3. Coffee with a friend.

4. Amazing church service... hearing God speak to my heart.

5. A chance to see some college friends I haven't seen in a very long time. (sigh, a breath of fresh air)

6. Wine and cheese on the bluff with good friends and raging kids.

7. Spending time all by myself in a paper store.

8.  Watching a movie on the couch.

9.  Eating Mexican food sitting on the outdoor patio.

10. Watching the sunset over the ocean.

I feel full...  So many amazing blessings.

Father's Day

We spent father's day at our favorite spot... crystal cove beach.  We had a relaxing morning with coffee, breakfast at Rose's (our local fav) and heading to the beach.  Mark enjoyed some time surfing (small waves, but beautiful scenery) and Owen and I sat on the sand loving the beautiful day.

Owen loves the water... absolutely no fear of it yet.  We have to strategically plan our time in the water towards the end of our time at the beach because he gets so upset when he has to get out!

The Zakaryans joined us for Asher's first trip to the beach! Way to go Z's... the first of many family days at the beach together. 

We finished the day with a bbq at my dad's.  Jess and Kev brought their newest addition, Sampson.  Sampson is a great dane (already 40 lbs. and only 10 weeks old!).  Owen LOVES Sampson.  Here is our family pic with Sampson.

Loving Summer

Just a few days in... and already feeling the relaxation and fun of summer.

Josh and Claire came to the beach with us today.  We had to pull all of the kids into the bath to get all of the sand off.  Looks like our old bath pictures, huh Linds?

Gramps came this week for a morning visit.  Owen loves our coffee and scones trips.

Mamas.

Here are the mamas (minus Jenn!).... We are a group of mom's trying our best to follow God in this season and raise our kids in love, truth and grace.  I love these women.  They are all so extraordinary in their own ways, and they teach me so much by the way they courageously live life.  We get together every thursday night at alta to hang out and discuss our parenting book, it is truly one of the highlights of my week.  Here are pictures from a play date last week.

4 Days of Heaven.

We love the Mauna Kea... four amazing days filled with time alone with Mark, mai-tais, beautiful beaches, amazing food, intoxicating Hawaiian air, and complete relaxation in every way.

It was so fun to have so much time with just the two of us... we missed Owen, but it was so great for us!

This hotel is huge on beach relaxation and fun...  We sat in these chairs all four days reading and staring at the beautiful water with breaks to kayak, play smash ball, drink Mai Tais,  and go snorkeling.

We loved lying around on the hammocks.

One thing I love about vacationing with Mark... he always finds a reading spot and spends the morning and early evenings reading and relaxing.  He is so cute.

We got dressed up every night and enjoyed some amazing dinners together... I love the Ahi in Hawaii.

One of our favorite things to do on vacation is explore together.  This vacation had much more relaxation than adventure, but we still spent the early mornings exploring the coastline.

We found this beautiful hike between our beach and the next beach over... the most beautiful, turquoise water.

Josh's Hat

Josh, Thank you for giving Owen your Angel's hat!!!  I think he loves it so much because it was yours... I found him cuddling with it on our way home.  Owen is your greatest fan.
