Easter 2012

Happy Easter to all...
Enjoyed a day celebrating Jesus with our family of 4 and our friends in Denver. We couldnt have asked for a more gorgeous day outside... so thankful for that. We had a wonderful church service downtown and spent the afternoon with friends from our neighborhood... brunch, egg hunts, and good time to just be together.
My beautiful neighbor girls,
talking in the kitchen of course, enjoying our mimosas.
This little lovely had so much fun discovering Easter this year... ba-ba-ba-ba-bunnies, baskets, stickers, hunts, and chocolate. She's a fan.
Owen was so eager to "celebrate Easter," he seriously asked me everyday for 2 weeks if I would "help him celebrate"... so sweet, this little boy is just like my dad, he lives for holidays. Since O is all about art these days, he was excited to make Easter cards for all of the kids coming to our neighbor Easter brunch. We cut paper, colored, and covered each card with Easter stickers. (with his pirate hat on, of course)
Early Easter evening bike ride around the park... relaxing and enjoying God's beauty. We have had an early spring so everything in our neighboorhood is blooming. Its stunning. I love that we are at a stage where we can enjoy our bikes again. O rocks his balance bike and can totally keep up with us these days... Peytee girl is in the bike seat, she LOVES it.
Our ritual of stopping at the lake to throw rocks. Reflecting on how good our God is...
He makes all things new.

Owen's Pirate Party

We have a little bit of a pirate obsession here... Ships, hats, hooks, cutlasses, treasures, "arrrgh" and "save the princess", full on pirate world. Owen specifically requested a pirate party for his 4th birthday, and he's been asking about it since Christmas... The boy loves to celebrate, and will take any opportunity to wear his pirate costume and hats. We were in California over his birthday this year and decided to celebrate with family while were in town.
By request, Emmy made some delicious vanilla cupcakes...
and her amazing chocolate chip cookies & PB bars...
Marrrrgharitas for the adults.
Hot dog bar...good grubbin.
and a HUGE pirate ship bounce house, courtesy of the coach. Thanks Dad, fun surprise.
This pirate LOVED his party.
All day he wanted to help decorate and set up all of the pirate stuff with us.
This little mate was just happy to see Bella.

Owen's had a blast with all of his cousins... he didnt come out of that ship the whole time, except for cupcakes, of course.
Uncle Mickey made them pirate sword balloons.
The Saukkola Crew.
Some of the other scaliwags that Owen has known since he was a baby...
and their mamas... love them.
Love you Owen... I hope you loved your birthday... I love celebrating you.
