Big Bear

The Burtons had a "Dan in real life" family vacation this weekend in Big Bear, by request of my dad. The weekend included pancakes, dominos, Olympics, tubing at the lake, bbq, ice cream in the village, Alpine slide, and lots of downtime with books and magazines. It was really fun to be under the same roof again for a short time, I really love waking up to pancakes with my dad. I think everyone got in their Owen time, as he was definitely the favorite form of entertainment for his grandpa and aunties. The only bummer was the lack of sleep for Mark and I as our champion sleeper had a little vacation speed bump... Im hearing that's normal?? Whoa.

Sawdust Festival

One of my best friend's husband is in an amazing band with his brother. Their name is pawshop kings (check them out at http://www.myspace.com/pawnshopkings ) and they are so musically talented. A couple of weeks ago we headed to see them in Laguna at the Sawdust festival with Owen. He absolutely loves live music and his tica Andrea. See how happy he is!

Anyone else Inspired?

Mark and I have been following the Olympics pretty religiously for the past week... I LOVE the summer Olympics. We fall asleep every night on the couch trying (most of the time unsuccessfully) to stay up to watch Phelps race. I think one of my favorite things is watching the stories about the lives of the athletes...I love the background on how they got there and what their outside lives are like. So, there was this 40 year old female swimmer (who has a baby by the way) who is swimming in the Olympics this year. She is so hard core. Watching her rigorous training has definitely inspired me to get off my lazy behind and start running regularly again, no excuses.

Baby Eli

So we finally have a picture of Owen's newest best friend. His cousin Eli was born 4 weeks ago, 4 weeks early (he just passed his due date this week!). Aside from a little jaundice (and being tiny), baby Eli had no complications and is growing fast. He is a cutie and looks like a blonde version of his dad. Mike and Karla are living in Houston, so we havent met him yet...We cant wait to see Mike and Karla and meet baby Eli in person.
