Owen just turned 4 months old last week.... he is HUGE! His favorite things right now are standing and practicing his voice (its so funny). He is doing so many new things all of the time.

Jimmy Eat World
Last night, Mark and I headed up to LA to see our favorite Band, Jimmy Eat World. I know, going to a concert in LA on a Sunday is something we definitely have not done in about 3 years. It felt like we were dating again, living a life of minimal worries and responsibilities. The music was amazing.... we both danced and sang at the top of our lungs for two hours straight. There is something about hearing live music (and especially Jimmy) that opens up your soul... you forget your life as it exists and taken back to memories of hearing the song at another time. I thought about Mark and I and the progression of our relationships and all of our memories that include Jimmy Eat World: road trips, late car rides home after a date, traveling on a bus in Hakone Japan, sitting on a train in Italy. I was so glad the concert was in LA because it gave us a full hour in the car to talk about the show, our favorite songs and how they make us feel, and our memories surrounding them. The best date night, way to go Mark.

A good read for moms...
My best friend Hilary gave me an amazing book called the "mission of motherhood" by Sally Clarkson as a gift for one of my showers. This book is a breath of fresh air after too much reading about breastfeeding, napping, diapers, and schedules. The book addresses the many facets that mom's are called to including serving, teaching, friendship, discipline, home-making, and much more. If you are interested in reading it, we have a group of girls meeting at Alta Coffee on Thursday nights to discuss the book and give each other support in being the moms that God desires for us to be.
